It had been two years since he first asked her out.
He had organised a day filled with all the things they loved to do together – going out for breakfast, visiting the Cuddly Animal Farm, having dinner at a nice restaurant, and exploring Fremantle.
There were no big surprises, no over-the-top displays of celebration. It was just a good day of them doing the things they always loved to do.
Except for one small detail.
He had the ring with him this time.
Brooke said she never suspected he’d propose that day. Everything seemed so normal (in a good way), and Kyle played his part flawlessly.
Fast forward to the wedding and what a day it was.
Brooke + Kyle had planned everything to a T. The details were a combination of their DIY savvy and Kristy from Pretty Willow.
Jenn from the Original Wedding Company helped style it all and co-ordinate the day.
The most amazing part had to be the dress, which was designed and made by none other than Brooke’s mum, Cherith.
So much time and effort had gone into that dress, and I could see just a small glimmer of pride, quiet but still present, coming from Cherith. To think that your daughter is wearing a dress that you designed and made on one of the most important days of her life, nothing could make a mother feel more proud than that.
I spent an unforgettable day with them documenting everything. The ceremony led straight into the lunch reception, and when the guests had all gone, we spent some time making portraits in the final hours of daylight.
It was an awesome end to an amazing day. Brooke + Kyle weren’t overly emotional people, but you could tell they were happy. Very, very happy.
And it just felt……right.
