December is traditionally a busy month. With Christmas and the New Year round the corner, everyone is making sure the presents are ready, the house is tidy for guests, food catered and cooked and flights/transport all planned out. Everyone is visiting everyone at this time of year. Old friendships rekindled, new friends made, family reunited.
It is also a time that puts everyone in a celebratory mood. Call it a new start, leaving past regrets, new resolutions, or just plain partying for the sake of it, everyone is looking for any excuse to celebrate.
For Kate + Dylan, they decided to have their wedding on New Year’s Eve and usher in 2013 with their closest family and best friends. What better way to celebrate one of the happiest days of their lives than to get married as the clock ticks over to the new year. Not to mention Dylan would definitely not forget the date ;)
They also settled on a backyard reception so they could party long into the night and not have to worry about staff needing to clock off or venues closing at midnight. The neighbours certainly didn’t complain. After all, it was New Year’s Eve.
