We’re finally back on the blog!
I can’t believe how much time has flown by. We’ve been extremely busy and if you follow us on our Facebook page you’ll know it true!
We’ve been posting up heaps of photos from our shoots there but updating this blog has taken a back seat unfortunately. This is something I am determined to rectify starting today with Kylie + Phil’s wedding.
Kylie and Phil both hail from the US of A but Kylie grew up right here in WA. Phil’s from Lancaster, UK and they met while in the US.
Kylie got in touch with us after seeing our work online and felt we fit her wedding theme to a T. They opted to have a really relaxed country style wedding, with lots of rustic, vintage touches everywhere. The entire wedding was inspired by what she found on Etsy. She even got her wedding dress made there!
They wanted to have a First Look before the ceremony and chose a spot that was very close to her heart, her Granddad’s property near the winery. Unfortunately he passed away before he could be part of their wedding day, so this was her way of remembering him. They brought us to the home where he lived, around to the front porch where she used to play when she was young, and to the treehouse where she’d hang out in the warmer months. It was a real privilege to be part of something so precious and to document it.
They chose to have their ceremony with everyone sitting on the grass, and they were going to arrive barefeet. They then had lawn games set up for all their guests to play and hang out while watching the sunset. We loved every bit of it.
Sam, who was Phil’s best man, almost couldn’t make the wedding. But at the last moment, and without Phil’s knowledge, Sam flew in the week of the wedding and surprised him right in Kylie’s parents’ backyard. What an amazing friend.
There was so much to capture on that day, so many emotions and so many stories behind them. Scroll down to check out the pictures!
